Conversations about pastoral ministry from an Anglican perspective
With the Rev. Matt Kennedy and the Rev. Jonathan Groves

8. Christian Education: The Divinity and Humanity of Jesus
In this week's episode, Matt leads us through Article 2 of the 39 Articles of Religion. This one is all about Jesus - his divinity and his humanity.
How is it that Jesus is both God and Man? Why should that be important to us? On the cross, did the Father really forsake the Son? And how does the Lord's Supper play into all of this?
Well, we hope this episode can shed some light on those questions and many more!

7. The English Reformation, Part 2
We talk about a lot of stuff in this episode. Everything from the English Reformation, reformed theology, the regulative and normative principles of worship, imposing ashes on Ash Wednesday, how tied to the reformers we should be in our own thinking, and ChatGPT (of course). It's all connected though under our broader conversation of how the Anglican church came to be. We hope you glean some insight and encouragement from our conversation!
We also added a link in the show notes to a debate that Matt had a few years back over whether we should impose ashes on Ash Wednesday or not.

6. The 39 Articles
This is a recording from a class Matt taught back in 2021. In this class Matt introduces the 39 Articles o Religion - the doctrinal statement of the Anglican Church. In this episode Matt walks through the historical backdrop of the 39 Articles and dives into Article 1: On the Trinity.

5. The English Reformation, Part 1
This week we talk about the foundations of the English Reformation and some of the major principles of what it means to be Anglican.

4. Ash Wednesday
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day in Lent. This episode is a recording of Matt's Ash Wednesday sermon given in 2020.
We pray that this Ash Wednesday and Lent you will keep your eyes focused on Jesus Christ who bled and died for you.

3. What are Pastors and Do We Need Them?
This week on The Cranmer Fellows Podcast, we discuss some ins and outs of pastoral ministry, such as:
- What kind of man is the pastor supposed to be?
- What does a pastor do all week?
- What do some of the odd Anglican terms like "vicar," "rector," and "priest" mean?
- Why, in Anglicanism, can only priests and bishops administer the Lord's Supper?
- First steps to take for anyone thinking about entering into pastoral ministry.
- Much more!

2. What is Anglicanism
This is a long lost episode, dug up now for (we hope) your benefit. This is the first part of a discussion that Jonathan, Matt, and Tyler had a couple years back. In this episode we discuss how Church of the Good Shepherd began making pastoral training a priority, and we dive into some history of the Anglican church.

1. Welcome to the Cranmer Fellows
In this episode, Jonathan and Matt discuss the pastorate, sermon writing, and how making the Sunday service welcoming is not the same as fashioning the entire service around the desires of the outsider.
